Dimethyl phosphite is an organic compound with the chemical formula C2H7O3P. It is a colorless liquid, soluble in water and most organic solvents. It is commonly used as lubricating oil additive, adhesive and some organic synthetic intermediates for the synthesis of insecticides such as dimethoate, methyl thiophosphorous and herbicide oxyphosphorous.
